    Seaforth Highlanders Centennial Year (1910-2010)

Last night I realized that this year is the centennial of the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada. So in honour of a 100 years of the Seaforths I thought I'd post a few more photos that I ran across of them in their kilts:

    Officers review order (circa 1914)

"The Seaforth Highlanders of Canada was first established on November 24, 1910 by a group of Vancouverites of Scottish descent. Upon official affiliation with the Seaforth Highlanders of the British Imperial Army, the "72nd Highlanders of Canada" was redesignated the "72nd Seaforth Highlanders of Canada" on April 15, 1912 and the "72nd Regiment Seaforth Highlanders of Canada" on December 16, 1912. The Regiment received its first stand of colours from the Governor-General, HRH the Duke of Connaught, in 1912."

On 2005 May 08, a contingent of active serving members of the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada (Vancouver, Canada) marched in the parade in Apeldoorn, Netherlands commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Liberation of Holland. They were accompanied by a combined band comprising the Pipes and Drums of the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada and the Seaforth Highlanders of Holland Memorial Pipes and Drums.
