I remember as a youngster going on road trips with my mom (who works for United) to deliver bags that had been delayed. Me and my younger brother and sister would fight over who's turn it was to keep my mom company.

Sounds like fun!
I was very understanding when I found out that the box was delayed. You can't help thunderstorms and I was lucky to even to get to LA myself, but when the box sits and sits and sits in Boston, while flight after flight leaves Boston for LA, I got a little irritable.
