    A hint about the dancing close is most of the oldies move their sporran to the side of their hip like drummers in pipebands.

    Not to be picking nits, but IIRC the weight of cloth is determined by double-width fabric. So a 16x8 kilt would actually weigh closer to 4 or 5 lbs. But if I'm wrong, I beg someone to correct me! Still, it is an impressive weight, especially compared to the evening gown which probably ways 2 lbs max... and which is supported by the shoulders versus the waist.

    Sounds like a blast! And your outfit sounds smashing. You should don it all again and get a pic taken. Glad you had so much fun!
