Hi, Ali – thank you so much for posting those pictures of your Alaskan cruise.
It’s a pity you couldn’t show them any larger, but hopefully someone will show you how to do that.
Greetings from the bottom end of Africa.
    Regards,
    Mike

yeah, I figured it out-- I was trying to eliminate a step in uploading pictures, but it appears that's not in the cards for me.

Check them out now, they're plenty big this time around

Bobbie, it's a shame that picture doesn't do you justice-- and it was incredibly kind of you to come out of your way and meet us after having just returned home. We'll have to make a return trip and spend some more time with you both.

    Ali,

I realized after posting that you must've taken the cruise ship out of Seattle.
For some reason I thought you took the Alaska Ferry cruise out of Bellingham.
Had that been the case I would've loved to met up with you all & shown you around.

    Maybe next time?

Hi Ali. So you finally met The Wiz and Bobbie -- great. Next time you get to Alaska take the train from Anchorage up to Denali for a couple of days and then on to Fairbanks. A super way to see that amazing country.

Definitely, we're already itching to get back up that way

I'd love to visit Alaska some time but I don't think I could tolerate being cooped up on a ship day after day.

I felt the same way until I took the Alaska cruise last year. It was stunning scenery, food and we met a lot of great people on board. It's a great way to see a lot of country that you couldn't any other way.

Did you take the Whitehorse pass railway excursion?? It was the hi-light for me.

No, unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to do that. Jon and I usually just go with the flow and do whatever the rest of the family is doing when we are on vacation, and they had other plans. We figure as long as we are on vacation it doesn't matter what else we are doing Hopefully we'll get another opportunity some day.

As far as feeling cooped up goes, I haven't ever felt that way on a cruise, they are generally pretty good about stopping at the various ports often enough, and there's always an option to be in open air. I highly recommend going on one if you can avoid the majority of the silliness that is a natural part of cruises
