There's no way I'd use 30 yards!
I understand a fly plaid isn't necessary, but I know someday I'll wish I had one but the opportunity will have passed.
I'm interested to hear more about sewing two widths together to make a plaid. How often is that done? And what about the seam? I fully intend to make my own after reading various threads about making a fringe and purling, so sewing two sections together is an option if the seam isn't too big a concern.
