    Wonderful examples my friend! I absolutely love the style of your brooches-I assume the stag's head is from your family's arms? Perhaps personal? Or perhaps a connection to the Clan MacDhai? Get well my friend-I'd love to have that dram with you in Badenoch.

    Absoluely stunning brooch! I love it! I really love the fact that it looks very bespoke, and not one of the commercially, massed produced plaid brooches-nothing entirely wrong with them-I just prefer the bespoke, unique, and unusual look myself. The gentleman with the beautiful cromach and lovely coloured tweed Argyll jacket, reminds me of Jock's smart day wear ensemble...could it be him on the viewer's right? I have no idea who the gentleman with the outstanding brooch could be.

    Charles McKerrell of Hillhouse. The arm and cromach belong to Livingstone of Bachuil.

    The brooch is indeed quite old. Here is a photo of the current owner's grandfather wearing it in 1934:
