Kilt socks scrunched down or?

I agree with Martin and artificer. For very informal occasions, I rather like the look of strap-on sandals and bare legs with a kilt. My son wears this often. It has a sort of 'Roman' look to it.

I have, back in the day, worn the sandals with a canvas kilt for the Roman, as well as the Hawaiian-ish look. The canvas kilt is not, and has nothing to do with the Highland kilt, though. That being said, I think a box canvas or maybe UK style might be good for the Roman look, not that I know anything...

What do you think of these boots/sandals? I came across them at an eBay store.

They could be worn with or without hose, with the hose up or scrunched down. They have the look of a boot with the cool comfort of a sandal.

Most of the celtic events I attend are in muddy fields, where boots are the only viable footwear, IMHO, and in hot temperatures where pulling my socks up would transform it into some form of torture. The only exception is an indoor festival in November, where it is actually cool enough for long socks to be appropriate and the going is firm enough not to need boots.

Have you seen these? They look really nice, especially with a pair of Big Mikey's hose toppers, and they are nice and cool. I have actually been testing them out this summer, and in the 100 degree temps this last weekend, they were nice and comfortable- hardly knew I had them on.

Hey they look great Nighthawk, and a great colour too, did you get a special knit from Big Mikey for the hose toppers or just go with what he had available

I have 2 of his, actually- one pair to match my Colorado State tartan kilt, and one to match my Albannach. Both are custom knits. I may have to post a picture or two today. I haven't gotten any yet with the Sock Dreams socks.

***EDIT*** A comment on the size of the socks- the website says they fit men's shoe sizes 6-10. My feet are a size 12, my calves are huge (21 inches) and they fit me just fine, but I doubt they would if my calves were any bigger. I figure I'm at the extreme edge of their fit.
