O yes, the Roman look. Here is my version two years ago, using a Utilikilt and sandals – after a holiday I Rome, by the way.
I never practiced it outside the garden, however. Wasn’t sure it would be a good idea.

The UK is to the short side, but it does look shorter than it is due to the camera angle.

Hmm, different strokes for different folks. I wear whatever I feel like, and don't think twice about the kilt police.

I don't know why not; this has been my look ever since they first introduced this kind of sandal.
Not with a utilikilt, though; not my style at all!

A few things about these.
1) I don't think hose should be worn with these...
2) I'd beware of these if they're inexpensive. The leather looks pretty cheap from the pic. With that many straps and cheap leather the possibility of an irritating 'rub' somewhere on the foot or ankle is pretty great.
