Just a small point of clarification. These books have been recently acquired by the Scottish Tartans Museum (STM), in Franklin, NC. The Scottish Tartans Authority (STA), based out of Crieff in Scotland, also has a rather large collection of historic tartan reference books (including many that are in the museum's newly acquired collection), but the web site in question is a project of the Museum, not the Authority.
I serve as the Director of the Scottish Tartans Museum. And since this past December I have had the pleasuring of being one of the Governors of the Scottish Tartans Authority. Though the two have similar names and similar goals in terms of education and promotion of Scotland's iconic tartan traditions, they are two separate entities.
Just didn't want there to be any confusion.... :-)
