Stay strong, Alex. Bob and I are hoping for the best for you and Ann. Be sure to accept any and all local offers of assistance, as others have said you need to take care of yourself too.

Dear Alex,
You and Ann will be in my thoughts and prayers. Do take care of yourself! Drink plenty of fluids, and don't forget to eat.

My heartfelt thankyou to you all. The power of prayer and of modern medicine together worked wonders. Early last week, the doctors had warned me Ann might not survive this latest crisis yet today she has been moved out of high dependency into a normal hospital bed, and all being well she should be fit to be transferred by ambulance from the Borders General Hospital in Melrose back to St. Andrews Nursing Home here in Hawick during the coming week.
