    It's interesting: Spirit of Scotland is a rather dark tartan, but this band, by having everything else in their kit dark, is allowing the beauty of the tartan to show.

    Here's the Gramian Corby Pipe Band who also wear this tartan:



    (Note that their kilts are pleated to the pairs of light blue lines, making the rear of the kilt brighter and bluer than the tartan itself.)

    Crackin' set of pictures. Sorry I missed the Gig and the Gathering. Nair mind, there's always next year. Thanks too OC for the lowdown on Spirit of Scotland tartan. You're right, it is striking.

    The support act The Trybe where awesome far more feel than the Chillies, Don't get me wrong the Chillies where good but too in yah face

    I saw the Chillies last year in Dumfries and thought they were terrific. It was an open air gig, right in the town centre and they really got the whole crowd bouncing.

    I do also appreciate subtlety though so I shall have to look into The Trybe. Thanks for the tip.
