The area I live in has an abundance of thistles all in full bloom.

The thing is, you can't see many of them here. Specially not in urban or sub-urban areas. That's why I was so surprised and pleased to see it.

If I follow the idea that everything happens with the reason, it can mean I need to continue kilting for sure!

This one is growing in my backyard keeping the Vikings at bay.

Just counting the ones at the edge of the patio, I have two 2½', one 3', one 5', and one 6' tall. Unfortunately, the other 6' thistle succumbed to height + lack of rain - it toppled over and is now growing sideways. One flower is still in bloom, and two more should be opening shortly.
