I'll buy four of each, straight and bow ties. As a bonus, they won't match anything else I wear.

I thought I remembered seeing a fuschia stripe, but it's difficult to find one without blue! Actually if one finds the fabric, having them made up is easy if not cheap.

In all honesty, I wouldn't mind any of those suggestions; though I think it should be something that appeals to the majority of community members (and I'm not sure tangerine, lime, and raspberry do).

It also ought to be unique to X-Marks, I'd hate to discover later that I had actually been wearing another organization's tie!

There are a number of companies that will make custom regimental ties (usually with a minimum order of around 50), so it is a real possibility. Deciding on colours may be a challenge, though!

It's interesting, how common tweed check jackets were in the 20s and 30s, but how rare they seem to be in earlier images.

I've a fairly large collection of late Victorian/Edwardian photos of people in Highland Dress and none until this one I recently got clearly show a patterned jacket...

I think that one needs to be very careful how one reads a picture. It is what it is for sure, but any further conclusions to be drawn from it, is pure conjecture.

The only conclusion I wish to draw from the photo is whether I've been misguided in my belief that the pockets of a converted jacket sit too low. They are usually about an inch to an inch-and-a-half lower than those on modern kilt jackets, but trends come and go. I'm just trying to make informed conclusions. No harm intended.
