Great pics, looks like you enjoyed a fairly strenous hill climb to get up on those rocks.

the march down to the castle to gather the clan chief for the bon fire.
Hope you did not incinerate your chief on the bonfire

Some great pictures there, CaptMac and VMac!
I especially liked the Hielan’ coo. Oh, yes, and the stag with the weeds hanging from his antlers.
But the kilt pictures were great, too, as well as the view of that rock in Edinburgh ;-)
    Regards,
    Mike

That "weed" is the velvet(skin) falling off the stag's new antlers. Red stags grow new antlers every year and at this time of year the antlers stop growing and harden so the protective velvet(skin) dries and falls off. Then you get the classic "Monarch of the Glen" stag.

Excuse my ignorance! Thanks for the information, Jock.
The buck (antelope) in this part of the world have their horns permanently, without any velvet covering.

oKay, I admit that we took the gondola to the top of the hill, BUT we walked to the top of the second hill. It was a fairly good hike. Jock, quit smirking!
