    Canada WINS! Go Team Canada! Oh, C a n a d a...

Yesterday at the Michigan renaissance festival (http://www.michrenfest.com/ ) was the 3rd annual Canada vs. USA Highland Athletics Challenge. It's a 'demo' games with 6 events, 56# weight over bar, 56# weight for distance, Braemar stone, open stone and caber. It is held during the "Highland Fling" weekend of the fesitival.

And this year Team Canada won!

Why am I, an athlete from Detroit so proud of this win? Because I was... ahem..."drafted" to be on Team Canada for this event.

Great time--great people--big fun. If your in the area, please come out and support the festival, which runs until October 3rd. Please also remember to support amature Highland Athletics whenever you can. We promise to do our best for you, all the time.

Thumbs up Congrats on the win!

I was at the event and was happy to be able to see it. In fact its the only reason I came out. Good team work and duck tape made for a amazing show. I was really thinking a lot about starting to try training for an event my self. I mean the event was my first and I liked it so much I wanna try it..... Thank you so much for doing what you do!

Likely they were confused that you live north of the Can/US border.
