Wow. :-|
No reverse pleat, no pleats sewn down in the fell, no tapering of the apron, etc. I think he needs to stick to reenactment Braveheart-wannabe schtick and not post anything like this again. He sounds like someone who has barely studied a subject, and only by observation, and that makes him an expert.
Again, wow. Just wow.

I'm fairly certain that is the definition of "Expert" on the internet

If that's the case, then have I got a beauty of a car I made you from a cardboard box, duct tape and some wagon wheels. I'm an expert car builder.

Sadly, both the video and explanation lack context. We really don't know if his intent was to show how to quickly produce a Halloween or theatrical costume, or if he would seriously go out dressed that way.
Then again, even if he were serious, it's probably best not to criticize him too hard. None of us were born with the knowledge we have, and if everyone could just sit down and knock out a kilt as well as Barb or Matt or any other known kiltmaker, there would be many more people doing it. Until I actually sit down and make one myself I'm not going to point my finger at anyone...

I can't believe the level of meaness of the criticisms on this thread.
Those young gentlemen are using their noggins to create something that they may have no experience in. For a use, you know nothing about.
I can only hope that they don't discover this thread. You may have lost 4 future kilt wearers.

It is really sad though - to know enough to put the film onto the internet, and yet to be so totally ignorant of the subject.
