    Day in Altamont, NY

Well, got back from the Capitol District Scottish Games...

    Met some people...

BTW, that is me and ctbuchanan

Saw many little ones in kilts...

(and more about that in a moment)

    and wait, there's more...

    Under the flags...

    in the beer tent...

Rathkeltair performed among the many bands there.

    But, during the opening ceremonies,

The host band, Schenectady Pipe Band, performed.

    Continuing...

The band competitions...(not in order of appearance)

    Schenectady Pipe Band (http://www.schenectadypipeband.com/)

    Mohawk Valley Frasers (http://mohawkvalleyfrasers.com/)

    Unknown band (sorry)

    NYPD Emerald Society (http://www.nypdpipesanddrums.com/)

While watching the NYPD, a couple with an almost 2 year old came up and watched. She was in a kilt (no pic's but it did happen, really!). Anyway when they had finished performing, she clapped and the started saying "MORE!!". Even though she was assured there was more coming, she still was wanting "MORE!!"

and finally the "villians" or "unsung hero's" of the band comptitions...

    The Judges.

    Lastly...

there were 40 bands for the opening ceremonies..

    Wave One..

    Wave Two

    Wave Three

    And finally, Wave Four.

They claimed there were 200 pipes for the parade, Don't know if it is true, but the sound they made (especially during Amazing Grace), made a shiver run up the spine along with a tear in the eye (at least for me).

Great photos! I was there, but without a camera. It was a wonderful day and the bands were amazing.
