Could you tell Hamish, please, that I have a special book coming to him commemorating his 100th trad kilt? Carolyn and I just finished it today and have ordered it. As soon as I get it, I will send it along.

    Best,

    Barb

Glad to hear that Hamish is doing okay for the most part!

My 75 year old cousin just went through colon cancer surgery about a week & a half ago, so I can relate to everything you (and Hamish) are going through right now, as I'm the one who's been helping my cousin with her home care.

We're still waiting for the polyp biopsy results to come back, but she's been healing fairly quickly. She had the "tent flap" version of the surgery and is trying to adjust to the colostomy. I hope I never have to go through that myself....yuk! Fortunately the colostomy is temporary, although her incision site has started leaking some 'orangey' colored milky stuff. Reading about Hamish's blood clot episode now has me wondering why my cousin's incision site would start leaking all of a sudden after a week. (Her nurse said to go to the ER if it starts to hurt.)

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed that Hamish continues to heal and also sending good thoughts & strength for you to continue to be there to help him!

Well, that is absolutely the cherry on the top!
How many copies are being printed?
Congratulations, Barb, on your fine work.

Gosh! You guys 'n' gals know how to make a chap feel really humble.

My thanks go to Jim of course, for keeping in touch with you all on my behalf, but my thanks are mainly to you for all your wonderfully supportive words and the positive thoughts you have posted here.

I recently began a new thread, here:

    http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...ed-fold-61511/

to announce my semi-return to a (sometimes) saner world!

    Many, many thanks, and

    Take care,
    Ham.

Macs come with something called iPhoto, which lets you easily make a book of pictures and graphics. When you're done, you just click "buy book", and about 10 days later, a hard cover, full color book arrives with a color dust jacket that you design. It's absolutely fab. I had 3 printed - one for me, one for Hamish, and one extra. When it gets here, I'll take some pics and post them so you can see what it looks like.

Should be here any day now!
