My son and I took in the Tulsa Scottish Games this weekend. It was our first time to attend. It was not bad, just not as big as the Texas Scottish Festival. Everything's bigger in Texas, isn't it?
Some pics:
Me in my Cunningham kilt I finished a few months ago. I went mainly to find a sporran and a few other pieces. It was already getting hot by 10 in the morning.
My son in one of my old kilts. This is his first time wearing one. He looks a little disappointed that I hadn't finished his Black Watch casual yet. I did get him a sgian dubh and the both of us clan crest kilt pins.
There weren't that many vendors, maybe ten not counting the food. They apparently let anybody sell their wares, as seen below.
Just kidding.
There were only two pipe bands that I saw. One was from Arkansas but I'm not sure where in Arkansas. The other one I have no idea where they were based.
Their kilts were all mixed tartans.
And the other band.
More pics in a moment.
