    My SWK MacKenzie weathered

My first real kilt - on our way to ren fair (no, it's not 'costume', it was my outfit for the day). The piece of random tartan hanging from the right side of my belt is my son's 'baby' kilt that he wasn't yet wrapped in. Feedback and constructive criticisms welcome!

I have no complaints (sorry). A suggestion though - try the sporran strap through the "belt" loops. You may find that more comfortable.

I had actually intended to do that, however the baby started getting fussy so just strapped it on and went lol. I did, later on that day, thread them through the loops...

    Very nice...

Braw, some of the 'purists' don't like to see baseball caps with the kilt, but when I am in America visiting the 'outlaws' in the Summer, I wear one too, better that than a frazzled head, and its way to hot to wear a woollen bunnet anyway....

That baseball cap and I go back a long, long way... got it when I was 16 as a birthday present. 7 years strong, still not destroyed! There's nothing I won't wear it with (except, maybe, when I'm in slacks... *shudders*). I have a lot of Tarheel pride... I'm thinking my next kilt might be the Carolina tartan if I can find one that won't break the bank (and in turn the wife breaking me :P).

Besides, it's like you said: it's still too hot to have wool upon your noggin...

You look great, I wouldn't change anything. Hope the rennfest was fun, I haven't been able to make it there yet.

It was quite enjoyable. Not too busy to make it miserable, but I did end up having one too many drinks... it ended not so well lol.

Looks sharp, it makes me want to get a brown sporran and belt. I just got another 2 kilts and my wife said that I can't get anymore kilt stuff.

Stick around here, and you'll hear about a group project to get some woven, or someone may have some. In fact, you should check with Matt and associates at the Tartans Museum, to see if they have any on hand.
