    Great photos!

It is good to see that the kilt is alive and well with the lads!

It's hopefully a very good sign for the future.

But it's also a time when they keep on growing out of them and that has to be budgeted for.

I also wonder what happens to many of the kilts afterwards. Are they stored for a future generation or given away or exchanged for something?

I never thought about this before but.. for the Buchanan tartan...if a weave is 54" wide and many many yards long and they split it down the center to make kilts... half will be red over yellow half will be yellow over red...
If they are using the selvage edge for the bottom of the kilt and not hemming it...

Not sure how others handle it, but with our big family we hand them around. In more recent years we've been buying youth sport kilts off the rack which aren't expensive and are easily washable. Not like wool, but for a 10 year old a pretty good compromise.

Hundreds of Pipers and Drummers at Maxville massed bands, and this kid stole the show IMO

And no wonder - imagine when he is 50 and can say, with all honesty, that he's been wearing a kilt for almost all of those years.

This young man stopped in to visit us at the New Hampshire Highland Games 2010. Clearly very comfortable in his kilted attire he is sure to be a future member of the rabble!

Is that his sisters mini kilt or is the image flip flopped?
