No, image isn't flipped. But when a family puts a little tyke like this in a kilt for the fun of it and brings him to a highland games I don't take much notice of the flip of the flap :-)

They were a great family and having a good time at the NHHG.

Given the smile and "walking stick", I think he has the makings of a future VP of Clan Buchanan Society International!!!

    Great Shot too!

I'll say one thing. If he keeps that smile and wearing a kilt he'll have no trouble with the lasses when he gets older!

I can't see that it makes a difference at that age. Traditionally, in the UK, the middle and upper classes dressed their sons as girls - 'So the devil would be confused and wouldn't steal them away'.

Quite true. My father-in-law, as a small boy in Manchester, wore a pinafore.
But I found the next part interesting: “ ‘'So the devil would be confused and wouldn't steal them away.’ ”

At any rate, this calls to mind the story told about my father-in-law, aged three, being taken to visit his Irish grandfather on St Patrick’s Day.
“Where’s your shamrock, Charlie?” asks Grandpa.
So little Charlie lifts up his pinny and shows him!

    Regards,
    Mike

Spied by my wife at the New Hampshire Highland Games (she liked the carrier):

Later in the day I did see him out of the chair and happily wearing the kilt in full form. I do sometimes wonder why the parents have the child wearing the kilt but they themselves don't!?!

Good question, Chris. But perhaps no odder than the tendency we see for kilted men to be photographed with their wives in pants.

This young man was at the St. Andrews Society of Conn. Scottish Festival. He had been reading about the Jacobites and the 'Forty-Five' and had set out to recreate the garb from things he had at home (including the basket-hilt). I thought he had done an admirable job.
