Have you seen the XKilt plans? They are really detailed and seem pretty straight forward.

Just tried to open the file, and unfortunately the powers that be here at my workplace have put this tag on that particular document:
ACCESS DENIED
I guess kiltmaking is highly detrimental to work... who knew?

That is the style I use and like a lot - even in a crease loving fabric.
I make the centre back inverted pleat large enough so that when opened out I can sit on it, and any creases are fairly well hidden when I stand up and the folds fall back into place.
Also advise good deep pleats under the apron - the one I am wearing now has approximately 9 inch deep under apron pleats, so the pair take about a yard of fabric, but are a great help in maintaining modesty if I should decide to vault a gate or do any of the other things I get up to.
