Anything else I need to know?

So I'll be calling Rocky over at USAKilts tomorrow or Friday to order my first kilt. I know this much so far:
    MacKay Modern tartan
    eight yard
    knife pleat
I have my waist, seat and length measurements
My two choices in fabric are 13 or 16 ounce wool, both by House of Edgar. I'm leaning strongly toward 16 ounce based on the advice to buy the heaviest weight I can afford.

Anything else I should be armed with when I call? Questions i will be asked and need answers to?
I wish I believed in reincarnation. Where's Charles Martel when you need him?

You might think about how you want it pleated--to the stripe or sett. If you have a real preference, discuss it with him. I can't say which would come out better, but Rocky's the expert and will know. If you're not dead set on one style or the other go with the one he thinks will make a better hang and swish, and a better laying pleat, or if he thinks it will make a difference at all. USAK does excellent work...good choice. You'll be more than happy with it.

I just hope you're ready to go through the "Joneses."

The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

You'll probably also be asked whether you want matching flashes with it. And you should probably also think about whether you want belt loops or not. Other than that, I think you've got it covered, along with Whidbey78's advice on pleating to the stripe or sett.

Pleat to stripe or sett? (depends on the tartan for me, I'd probably go with the sett on this one)
Two or three straps/buckles? (I like two)
"Belt" Loops or not? (I don't like them)
Do you want a fringed apron?
Planning on Gaining/Losing a lot of weight?

Go with 16oz. wool, skip the tartan flashes.

    Best of luck.

    David
