    Mull Millenium

[QUOTE=Barb T.;922000]Isle of Mull of course!! The colors are based on the colors of the various rocks in the bedrock of the Isle of Mull:

Boy, photos make a difference this tartan is beautiful and looks nothing like the depiction in the national register. Can you please tell me who weaves this tartan please? Thanks

I think there is differance between the Mull district and the above tartan. Matt has a Mull district kilt (in his photos) which looks nothing like the one above.
    Somebody ought to.

The "short" list(in no particular order):

    Navy/Edzel
    Washington State
    Maple Leaf
    Antarctica
    Lunar Tartan
    Isle of Skye
    Scottish National
    Welsh National
    Ireland's National
    Police and Firefighter's Memorial(USAK)
NWU(not a tartan, but unique to the World's Greatest Navy!)
Whatever tartan the waitresses were wearing at the Tilted Kilt in Vegas. It was blue...no wait, red and black...or was it green with...no, it was orange--or was that Hooters? It was blue...I think...

And I'm sure I'll be adding American Heritage and Oakleigh to the list in an hour or so. Rocky sent them out saturday and USPS says they arrived here at 7AM. I went to the post office but there was no key in my PO Box yet so I have to wait until they open. The torture!!!

American Heritage is just a good looking tartan so that choice was obvious, but I went with Oakleigh because even though it's been around a while I have never even seen a picture of a kilt in that tartan.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

I've always liked the Hunting Stewart, and the Canadian Maple Leaf is a close second. I like the IOS very much, too, but don't own a kilt in it.

There are a couple of Mull tartans - this is the Mull Millenium, and, no, it doesn't look a thing like the computer image. It doesn't even look right on ScotWeb, and they are usually pretty good. http://www.scotweb.co.uk/buy/tartan-...material/59304

It was designed by Rosalind Jones of Mull, and, when Ros had her shop (Celtic Originals), she used to sell it in 11-12 oz weight woven by Dalgliesh. I bought a length to make a shirt for my husband. When I decided to make a Mull kilt for myself, she gave me permission to have Dalgliesh weave a length of it in 16 oz, and the colors are the same as in the original that they wove. It's still on the bolt - one of these days, I'm going to make myself a new kilt!

It'll be fantastic! I hope to see it soon. This is a wonderful tartan.
