I did my original "dive right in" approach to kilts 3 years ago this month and ordered my family tartan kilt (first), a black barathea Argyll and a charcoal herringbone Argyll and waistcoat, along with all the various starter (mostly clan crest) acoutrements. Great turnaround time considering all the fabric stuff was MTM and not in standard sizes either. Good prices, about even with most other vendors, and no risk of duty added as long as you are in the US or Canada. Only glitch was the herringbone jacket and waistcoat were made up with shiny metal buttons that required a change over to horn buttons, only a few days delay. Easy to work with, good communication. Not sure of the name of the guy I worked with---he was the only one I spoke with despite having several telephone conversations for clarification of details and updates.
I would recommend without much hesitation.
