Excellent. I also have one of those budget Heritage of Scotland kilts.
They are a good introduction to kilts. Love them or loathe them, you have to admit Heritage of Scotland have introduced a lot more people to kilts. It is great that your father is sufficiently pleased with his souvenir that he would now follow this up with a bespoke kilt in Clergy tartan.

Chris, I have a kilt, MacDonald Modern, from the same company. I really like it but the material is very, very stiff. Is yours the same way? My other kilt from the same company, Scottish National, is very soft and more like a true PV kilt should be. Strange!!

Yes, this fabric is somewhat course. I was somewhat surprised as I thought it would be softer.
