Slanj Kilt Jackets?
G'day all.
I was just hoping for some advice about slanj kilt jackets. Has anyone got one, seen one or heard anything about their quality?
I ask because I am thinking of buying this jacket for my wedding. I did ask for a high res photo of the jacket and I get a very good high res photo but still there is nothing like seeing it in person. I also saw the photo of the debut of the SNP tartan and it being worn.
It is just that that is a lot of money and I don't exactly want to waste my money and time.
Thanks in advance!

I'm posting the image to make this easier for people to judge:

I don't have anything from Slanj but I've heard good things about their work. They definitely have a bit more contemporary take on things without departing too far from tradition, which I appreciate aesthetically.

I haven't bought anything from them, but I was in their Glasgow location 2 years ago when I was visiting. The quality of the product that I saw was all very good, with some more contemporary product than some of the traditional outlets had. I would certainly consider buying from them if I was happy with the price. ( just as an aside the two designers Collin and Justin had kilts from slanj they were white with a red maple leaf sporran) I'm sure that their is a picture in some old thread on the forum.

Thanks for your advice so far. I am really surprised that I haven't come across anyone that has bought from slanj before.
I agree 100% vegan scot. I was thinking of a nice fold down collar with french cuffs and a silver silk tie.

This is one of their Craig Crail charcoal jackets, I bought in Edinburgh.
The quality and fit are fantastic, albeit they are a wee bit on the expensive side. I am chuffed with mine.

Thanks the thing. You picked yours up in person? I am going to have to have it sent to Aus. What can you tell me about their sizing? I have never bought a jacket this way so have no idea if I am short, regular or long in sleeve length. Nor do I know what chest size fits me.
Thanks again

Yep I got fitted in person and the kilt and jacket was posted to me when the kilt was ready. Not sure about the sizing, but as a guide I have a 42 inch chest and 6 foot 1, the jacket and waist coast are 44 with a 56 inch length (regular). Don't know if that will help you, maybe some of the more knowledgeable members will be able to work out, the sizes or enlighten you abit more.
Cheers, The Thing
