    Slanj special offer

If anyone wants to try out a Slanj outfit, they're doing a special offer for the next couple of days; their outfit hire is normally £99 but they're doing a special rate of £49 if you book now.

    Here's the offer link: http://www.itison.com/member/715-glasgow/deals/63

I visited their Glasgow shop a couple times when I was there in 2007.

Their jackets appeared to be very high quality.

In particular I was taken with a lovely tweed kilt jacket, Lovat Green with a Claret windowpane check, just about the most striking jacket I've ever seen.

It was quite expensive, as I recall around $700 US.

    Not sure about Aus

American convention is to label a jacket for the chest size that it fits, not necessarily the measured size of the jacket- i.e., a size 42 jacket might measure 44 or even 46 inches, so that it would comfortably fit over a 42 inch chest. I do not know how things are done in Australia, but I have seen UK products that adhere to a stricter interpretation, i.e., a size 42 jacket measures 42 inches. I do like the Slanj jacket ( but don't care much for the tie and collar) but I would urge you to discuss with someone the actual circumference of your torso. If in doubt, guess high, because it is easier to tailor down than up. I am sure you can provide them with enough vital statistics to get a pretty good fit. Good luck.
