I met Robbie Burns in Frederick, Md
Two weekends ago, my wife and I were walking through Frederick, Md on Market st. We were having a nice stroll when a gentleman stopped me and asked about my kilt. I answered all of his questions when his wife said, " Youv'e just met robbie Burns". And then he said he was Robbie. So, next time you are in Frederick in your kilt, watch out for Robbie.
I assumed he wasn't the real Robbie Burns.

Maybe not THE Robbie Burns, but certainly A Robbie Burns.
And that should be good enough for any of us.

Just in case, I advise everyone in Frederick MD to keep their girlfriends and daughters out of any fields of rye in the area.

Maybe I'm missing the allusion here- was the guy making a lame reference to Rabbie/Robert Burns, the Scots poet or is there a different "Robbie Burns" who's a legend in Fred-neck? If one in the same, then the fellow needs to think up some better one-liners...

Remember The Great Man's song, fellow Gringos:
Green grow the rashes, O;
O, I love the lasses, O;
The sweetest hours that e'er I spend,
Are spent among the lasses, O.

Not a lot of rye in Frederick, but lots of corn. It's more of a bourbon area than whiskey. Altho Patrick's Irish Pub downtown will serve you some nice rye, or other good stuff, and the waitresses love a man in a kilt.
