If you are looking to not only loose some weight but get in great shape as well then do P-90X. I am on my second round of three months of it and it has given me a lot more confidence when wearing the kilt and my health is drastically improved in every way. It takes a real commitment (1.25 hrs a day) but it's worth it if you can squeeze it into your schedule.

Good for you Swampfox. I'm in the exact same boat; started at 263 and I am down to 235 but need to get to around 200. Weight Watchers really does teach you to use portion control and making better food decisions. Also, exercise is the number one component that works for me.
Good luck to you

My congratulations to all who have made the commitment to do something
about weight and health. Good information is hard to come by, as many have
strong emotional connection to certain foods or styles of eating. Doing something you are comfortable with is way better than something that you'll stop soon because you don't like it.
Mass projects that just observe what people eat and the diseases they have, while giving no agenda statement of what SHOULD be eaten, show that over time and across ALL cultures, body types, and blood types, those who consume no meats, dairy, eggs, caffeine, or alcohol are healthier than those who do. It doesn't mean you'll never get sick, it typically means greater overall health over more years, with so-called diseases of aging arriving twenty years later than the norm. If that's too drastic a shift, a wide variety of high quality vegetables and lots of movement added to what you're already doing will show improvement over time.
Swampfox, good on you, and the walking is a great addition.
