I was going to suggest leather kilt, latex shirt, alien blaster, and a pirate hat just to cover all the bases...but since you're going to be a party pooper ...
One of those lace-up pirate shirt things with the poofy arms would work. Also gonna need a drinking implement tied to the waist by a piece of leather, and a HUUUUGE belt.
Throw in some calf or knee high leather moccasin-type boots, stick a knife down one of them (and/or a fork or spoon, just for grins), and pick up a gray or green surplus wool army blanket to use as a cloak, and you should be good to go.
Ren Faires are an exercise in creative anachronism, personally I wouldn't sweat it too much. You could wear your kilt, scrunched socks and Red Wings with an Iron Maiden t-shirt, and you'd be just fine.
