Monday - and still November, and so cold.

The thick hose and fleece lined house boots are an odd combination but a cosy one.

Since we had the wall cavities insulated the temperature inside our house has been noticeably more even, and there is an additional benefit of sound insulation. The local council even helped with the cost of it - probably in the hope that it will stop us dying of hypothermia some way down the line, but I hold out the same hope too so didn't mind at all.

The whiteness outside is frost not snow - the sky is that pale blue which seems to indicate that it has frozen over up there and there will be no precipitation of any kind as it is just too cold.

I suspect that setting up a knitting machine and producing some warm jerseys will be a useful pastime between now and Christmas. Whatever the arguments on the climate, the weather is breaking records very regularly this last decade, and although living on a ridge top gives us good views and sunshine we need a good roof and double glazed windows when the wind blows.

Sitting here inside the house , but barely warm enough, and looking out I see no snow at all. I'm on the outskirts of London and no problems here at all. It's a shame really as I really rather like the snow!

Another heavy fall of snow here last night.
I was due at the dentist today for two fillings but her receptionist phoned to cancel as the dentist can't get into the surgery because of the snow.
I'd waited a few months for this appointment coming up, it will probably be spring before I can get another one.
Not to worry, a quiet week at home this week should give me time to write all my Christmas cards and put up my Chrtistmas lights.

More then 12" over night and is melting down. But forecast says the snow right to the end of week! A lot of material to shuffle, right?

    Stay warm!

The snow rather perplexed Jake - What was it and why was it in his garden?

That is a very cute picture, Pleater! It may just be the pose he's in while walking, but it reminds me of the "I can't put my arms down!" segment in A Christmas Story.

Stranded in Birmingham because Edinburgh Airport was closed by snow on Monday. Delayed arrival by train in Edinburgh on Tuesday due to snow. Cars currently are snowed in.

    But all very picturesque.

Well, being snowed in seems to have some compensations, MacRobert, going by the pictures of the cromach and the berries!
