    Getting a Kilt altered

    Hello,
I recently inherited a very beautiful Hunting Stewart Kilt that had belonged to my Uncle. It is a wee bit large for me and too long (falls below the knee) Who could I trust to alter it to the correct fitting? I live in Winston-Salem.

If you'd like, I'd be glad to alter the kilt for you. I'm an experienced kiltmaker and have altered more than 80 kilts with care and attention to detail. The comments from customers have all been good.

    altering a kilt

    Bonnie,
Thanks for the offer. After reading one of the articles on the site about how to properly wear one's kilt I discovered I was wearing mine too low which when pulled up to the recommended level make the length about right and I can re-sew one of the buckles myself to adjust the slight gerth issue. So after all I think I'm OK.

    Thanks again.

    Paul
