Thanks for everyone’s input. I’ve decide on the Glenmorangie Lasanta. When I went to the local ABC store today, to pick it up; it wasn’t on the shelf so I place an order to have it sent from their central warehouse. (They offer a larger selection than they display in the store. Just have to review the master list and ask to have your selection shipped to your store.)

I succumbed to ordering a bottle of Ardbeg (not stocked in this store) as I have acquired a taste for the Islay whiskies. I had set myself up for that purchase as I slipped into my car’s CD player, Clan an Drumma (the forerunner of Albannach) when left home to go shopping. I had discovered the band in 2003 picking up their first CD at the Ardbeg distillery (their sponsor), when we landed on Islay on our row back to Portrush from Iona. I ordered the Ardbeg Corryvreckan. We came near that infamous whirlpool on our sea voyage to Iona, but kept a safe distance. Our wooden curragh would not have stood a chance. Seeing the proof (114.2) on this whisky, I’ll be staying home when I imbibe, as I wouldn’t stand a chance on the road after a wee dram!

Great decision, both for the donation, and for the personal purchase.

Ardbeg is a beautiful dram. Not to be confused with the mainland Ardmore!!! But seriously, great choice on both, and be sure to enjoy that Ardbeg on the coldest, rainiest days that come your way. I guarantee the peat and cream flavors will brighten it and bring warmth through and through.

There is a new import from Scotland that is, well, delicious! It's called "Hedonism" made by Compass Box. At $100 a pop it's not a party bottle, but for sepecial occasions with a little cube of ice it is heavenly.
