If you want to wear white hose, then wear white hose. Honest.

    AND

There are no rules about what you can and can not wear, kilt-wise. NO RULES. There are some common sense guidelines, like don't wear a clans tartan and have no freakin' clue who it is or what it means. It might not be a good idea to wear the kilt on backwards. Wearing a tartan kilt with a grossly clashing pattern in your shirt might not be so good, but honestly...does it REALLY matter? Wear what you want as long as you're not grossly disrespectful to a Clans heritage or something. Everything else is a matter of personal taste.

I don't HAPPEN to have any white kilt hose right now, but I have had white hose off and on since I started wearing kilts and I think they look just fine. Obviously, some other people don't think they look very good. If someone else thinks they look horrid, well, that's their opinion and everybody is entitled to their opinion, right? No problem. There's lots of room in the world for different opinions on things, especially things which are as relatively unimportant as the color of someones socks.

As a matter of fact, this has made me think of the fact that I don't have a pair of white kilt hose. I think I'll go order a pair or two, right now!

Look at it this way: 99% of other people seeing you in a kilt haven’t the slightest idea of kilt wearing “rules”. They will judge you by their own standards, meaning taste; a few of them shall have what we call a good taste.
Accordingly your priority should not be kilt wearing rules but those of good taste.

With your black watch tartan kilt you can wear matching green or blue, black and even white or off white kilt hose.

None of them shall be in conflict with good taste in general, even if white and off white kilt hose might not be to everybody’s taste.

Most of the time I wear “colored” kilt hose, but I’m in no way rejecting white ones, which I do wear on a rather regular basis.

As everyone else says "There Are NO Rules", only good taste.

And if the self appointed kilt police do show up, be sure to ask to see their badge numbers
