It's like the old song says:

"Whisky is the life of Man
    Whisky, Johnny
I'll drink whisky from a can
    Whisky for my Johnny!"

    Or something like that ...

Frighteningly, after looking up the lyrics, it turns out the original song *does* talk about whisky from a can:

"Whiskey from an old tin can,
    Whiskey, Johnny!
I'll drink whiskey when I can.
    Whiskey for my Johnny!"

"MacDonald the piper stood up in the pulpit,
He made the pipes skirl out the music divine."

I can only imagine that they were pouring from a jug or bottle into a can (possibly because the glasses were broken)???

Was it in the movie Thunder Road where they were moving 'shine in the gallon tins normally used for turpentine or paint thinner? Same stuff- only made from turnips, not corn!
