I suppose that depends on how you define in the Bible:

Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

    Corinthians 3:11

Whenever I did a reading in a church on the South coast they had to give me a modern bible, as whenever I read aloud from the King James version I drop straight back into a broad Northern English accent which they found almost incomprehensible.

In my native Yorkshire thee and thah (thou) were commonly used 50 years ago and are still heard - particularly when people get angry.

My grandmother, father's mother, was brought up out in the wilds of Derbyshire and had no education, but she knew the bible and quoted it to me all the time.

She was coached in writing her name by her brothers so she could sign the register when she married, rather than making her mark, but did not learn to read and write until my father went to school and she had him go through his lessons with her after school each day.

I am not at all surprised by the tone of this thread, as X markers know or learn that any person denegrating the wearing of the kilt is to be pitied rather than reviled.
