    Faintheart?

I watched the Robert Downey Sherlock Holmes last night.

As usual, I was IMDB'ing the movie today to see what other roles some of the actors have played in the past (as in "What was that guy in? Was he the guy in Cranford who...?" Since I firmly believe that everybody in the UK is, in fact, an actor at some time in their life or another and that if you watch ALL of Masterpiece Theatre here in the States you will eventually see every person who lives in the UK.

So I was looking up the actor who played Inspector LeStrade and found this:

...and it looked like the kind of movie at Xmarksers would love!

...and it has that cute red haired chick from "The Commitments" in it!

Oh I have got to see that.

I used to follow John Lillburne's regiment of musket and pike - English Civil war - and often ended up helpless with laughter at the antics of the re-enactors both on and off the field.

And yes I have been filmed, interviewed for the telly box, and videoed too.

We attended the screening at the Jorvik festival last year with the director. We liked it so much we bought the DVD.

As well as being a great little British romantic comedy featuring our typical eccentricity, it really hits the spot with a few re-enactment in-jokes. Folk might be relieved to hear Jacobite re-enactment completely escapes the caricature, the gentle fun being at the expense of Viking and Norman groups.

I was interested so I checkes it out. Looks like a good movie, but sadly it was not available on Netflix. I will have to keep an eye out in the video stores.
