Swapping sporran tassle cones
I've a potential opportunity of swapping out a too-small hair sporran for a newer, and longer one, using the old cantle. The one thing I'm not too sure on is the tassle cones and chains, as the old ones are really lovely. Has anyone attempted swapping out cones and chains?

In many cases you'll find that the chains are hung THROUGH the body of the sporran, with a split ring keeping them in place on the backside of the sporran. All you need do is simply remove the tassel chains from the rings, thread through the new body, and re-ring them.
IF your tassels are sewn into the body, that's a different issue.

Score 1 for Artificer! (and thanks); the chain is secured by a ring in the back just like he said. If I succeed in removing the chain from the tassel and substituting hair, then I'll post here how I did it.
