Lat/Long uploaded, I hope that the quaich doesn't stray too far from home right away, I'd love to see it come to Seattle

Isn't Seattle a little EAST of Victoria?

I guess that I worry about things like this but I'd suggest that there either be a very specific shipping protocol for this thing or a special shipping container that ensures it's safe transit. I'm sure a couple of dents and scratches might give it character but I'd worry about it staying intact.

...Bearing in mind that the direction of the quaich's travel was made as a suggestion -- not a requirement...

Wow, 6 pages and 55 (now 56) posts about a thing that isn't even made yet...
I do like the idea of smaller replicas. If a gathering of XMarkers were scheduled, perhaps a number of the replicas could be made up ahead of time and shipped in time for the proposed gathering (provided everyone attending that wants one orders one)? A nice photo op with the attendees gathered around the traveling quaich holding their own memento version. Regardless, it seems an ideal gift for each host (possibly with the date engraved?), and a nice memento for those attending each gathering.
It's also a nice thing to offer for our geographically remote members that are unable to make it to their nearest meet-up.

Ha! You just don't want any delays in it reaching Japan!
(clever of you to argue for the opposite of that, so fewer of us will suspect your real motive)

Whenever the quaich manages to make its way over here is fine by me... Actually, truth be told, if I had the choice, I would ideally love to see it in July, August, or early September, so I could climb to the summit of Mt. Fuji with it...
Climbing season is only 2 months of the year due to severe weather.
But failing that, any time of year is fine too.
