Looking for a specific clothing supplier
I am looking for a supplier of pipe band uniform clothing. They were recommended on this board about a year ago, I bought a black waistcoat from them, and I can't remember who they were! They had waistcoats for under $50, which is why I'm looking for them, and the one that I got was excellent. They're one of the few places that carry my size in stock... They had a large selection of button and color options, and the vests are made from polyester. They were in the Eastern United States, if that helps. If anyone can steer me in a potentially correct direction, I would be most appreciative.

I sort of remember that. I thought they were in New Jersey and related to pipe bands. This is what I came up with in Google. Is it what you wanted?

Just curious. Does when does one use 3 or 5 buttons? I know this has been covered here before. I've both regulation doublet and simple tweed jackets.

It's my understanding the three button waistcoat is for eveningwear with the bowtie, and the five button is for daywear.
I suppose there are exceptions, but in general that is what I have read here on the forum.

Same here. That's also my understanding.

There's also a scooped front waistcoat style that, I think, usually has four buttons. It's low cut like the three button, evening waistcoat, but has a "U" shaped neck and lapel, rather than the "V" shape. I like the "U" shape a little more.
Are you putting together an outfit for something, Hawk?
Or just replacing a waistcoat?

Nope, just wanting something a little different from the usual black. I like a colored waistcoat with my black jacket. I'm getting a tartan one made from Albannach tartan, as well.

Cool, tartan waistcoats are good.
Sounds good to have a colored waistcoat, too.
What color are you thinking of, or are you going to get a couple of waistcoats in different colors?

I'm looking at either the green or red. They'll go well with everything I have. I'm leaning more towards the red, though. I like the statement that bright colors make. As to how many I'm getting- just one. I figure that with the tartan waistcoat and the black ones that I have, I should have a fairly well rounded wardrobe. I just want to get a grey tweed and I'll be happy.
