Hi Steve, thanks for getting back to me. To be honest I think you might be a bit over the price I was looking to pay for a rough & tumble kilt that will at best be used for rolling around the pub in and wearing out in the hills. however the sort of thing I'd be looking for would be synthetic with probably knife pleats (only because I'm more used to them) and a large cargo style pocket on each side. I prefer leather strap closures and I wouldnt be too fussed about the amount of material used, I hadn't decided on a tartan yet as I was just looking to see what was available.
But now you've got me thinking as I've a wedding in the autumn and I had been thinking of a new kilt with a modern contemporary style of jacket/waistcoat. I was thinking about a grey tartan something like highland granite or grey spirit, I think I'll need to check into the finances and give this some more thought, what kind of time frame would we be talking about for a custom kilt??
