Broons reminds me of some of the Irish tartans.
Oor Wullie is allright, though I don't see myself rushing out to get a kilt in it. It would be very useful for a school pipe band, where the school's colours are red and grey.
Sadly here in California we don't see either of those cartoons.

Michty me, jings, crivens, help ma boab, they are not cartoon characters, the Broons live in Glebe Street, just by Dundee and Wullie lives up the close, in the tenement round the corner from them.
Next you'll be saying Scotty is'nt a real space ship engineer and was not born in Linlithgow

While I have not had the pleasure of seeing Oor Wullie or The Broons in print (I do have an electronic copy of the cartoon posted by SlackerDrummer), I was thrilled to receive notice from the SRT about the tartans, and immediately posted them on Facebook.
They should prove quite popular, I imagine.

Mike

The Broons & Oor Wullie have been such an important part of so many peoples lives, it is great to see them honoured with their own tartan

Nae bother - just take up a collection.

My sister bought me the Ma Broon's Robbie Burns night cookbook a few years ago and since then I have been hunting down old copies of annuals and such. What great fun and great tartans!
