MOD kilt
MOD stands for the British Ministry of Defence, and a MOD kilt is either an ex-Army kilt or one made to Ministry of Defence standards. They are heavy weight, 18 and 20 oz wool and have a higher rise than civilian kilts. They are also pleated to the stripe. Some, like the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, Camerons and Seaforth Highlanders, are box-pleated. Black Watch is knife pleated. They are built to last and unless you put on a good deal of weight, ought to last you for many, MANY years!
