New Scabbard For My Picitsh Boar Dirk

I had originally had a rather boring leather belt sheath for it but I recently got the book Carving Scottish Dirks by Vince and Grace Evans ( which is perfect for me as it has a ton of pictures) and wanted to test out some of the things they did on the handle of the dirks they make. So I let this scabbard be my guinea pig and heres what I ended up with.
    Before I added the frog:

    And with the frog on:

I most certainly need to practice on my brass soldering......it wasn't very good initially. Now I am looking forward more to getting to wear it out.
    Thanks for looking

    Nice work.
I bought their book as well and I'm putting together a dirk similar to that they have in the book, except I'll be using nickel silver instead of brass. I'm also making the handle of the dirk out of a moose antler. I intend to turn it and carve it similar to what they've done. Hopefully, it will turn out as nice as your work.

That sounds like it will be an awesome looking piece. I would love to see it when your done. I had never thought of turning or carving on antler. I have seen scrimshaw work and standard looking antler handles but for some reason never thought of using it just like wood.

Very nice work on the sheath, the thumbnail pic do not do it justice. Everyone should enlarge the photos to see the detail and craftsmanship
    Excellent work
