So, do dogs go to heaven?

Dog lovers and others should enjoy this exchange of messages allegedly posted on signs outside Our Lady Of Martyrs Catholic Church and Beulah Cumberland Presbyterian Church, somewhere in the USA. I got this via an email that includes alleged photos of the actual signs but my oft-lamented inability to actually post photos also prevents me from showing the stupid email, so I am transcribing the text the hard way (and cheating on the toil with cut and paste).

The email explains that the two churches face each other across a busy street.

1: Outside Our Lady Of Martyrs:

    ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN

    2: Outside Beulah Cumberland:

ONLY HUMANS GO TO HEAVEN READ THE BIBLE

3: Outside Our Lady Of Martyrs:

GOD LOVES ALL HIS CREATIONS DOGS INCLUDED

    4: Outside Beulah Cumberland:

DOGS DON’T HAVE SOULS THIS IS NOT OPEN FOR DEBATE

5: Outside Our Lady Of Martyrs:

CATHOLIC DOGS GO TO HEAVEN PRESBYTERIAN DOGS CAN TALK TO THEIR PASTOR

    6: Outside Beulah Cumberland:

CONVERTING TO CATHOLICISM DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY GRANT YOUR DOG A SOUL

7: Outside Our Lady Of Martyrs:

    FREE DOG SOULS WITH CONVERSION

    8: Outside Beulah Cumberland:

DOGS ARE ANIMALS THERE AREN’T ANY ROCKS IN HEAVEN EITHER

9: Outside Our Lady Of Martyrs:

    ALL ROCKS GO TO HEAVEN

Whether this actually happened or not, it's pretty funny. And I myself have no dog in this fight because my own creed states that all beings have equal opportunity to go either way, but it's temporary anyway!

EDIT: There are claims on the internet that this was indeed a hoax. Still funny, darn it.

Actually, I preached on that at the Feast of St. Francis of Assissi.

I heard that an English politician (forget who) was giving a talk in Northern Ireland to an audience of mixed religions. He explained very carefully that he was an atheist, so hoped to be able to talk to both communities. A little old lady stood and asked " Well I suppose you may have your opinion, but I want to know, is it the Catholic God or the Protestant God that you don't believe in?"......
