Riverkilt:
I was counting up my surgical scars and trying to remember all the "other stuff" doc's can do in their spare time, and I can tell you about chemo. Stay hydrated, and if upset stomach troubles you, try frozen anything . . . ice cream bars; fudge bars; juice bars . . . and I ain't kidding . . .sherbet and anglefood cake. Really!
If upset stomach does not trouble you . . . insist on all the above anyway. The colder something was, the better I could tolerate it, and the more of it I could have. Besides, "cold" made me feel better.
They tell me that chemo is so much better than it used to be, and I hope that is the case for you. Chin up and kilt up everytime you go in, and you'll breeze through it.
Sometimes it helps to talk with someone who has been through it. Doctor's are great, but I bet yours (like mine) has never had chemo. I am available for PM if you feel the urge.

***??
Don't think for a minute this is going to get you out of your southwest landscape pictorials!! You'll have to come up with something a little more serious than cancer to get out of that detail mister!!
You know where to find me if you need anything friend.
As they say,
Chin up mate!

I hope all goes well. You look to be in good spirits, keep it up. I've read that a positive attitude really helps physically.
Take care...Prayers and Smoke coming you way.

Hi Riverkilt,
That is the type of cancer my ex-father in law has had for over a decade and he is still going strong. Not to say that it is not serious, just that it is something that can be lived with with treatment. I certainly hope treatment goes as well for you as it has for him (he kept his hair too, but he started with much less).
Blessings to you.

Ron,
I am sending all of my admiration and strength. As the keepcalmshop on Etsy (via Alt.kilt )says, "Keep Calm and Kilt On"

Radiation is nothing for a kilted man... we can eat haggis, after all!
A good friend and coworker is going through chemo for his second bout (after 8 years of being clear) of colon cancer in his late 30's. I told him I'd walk for him on his ACS team, if he wouldn't mind me wearing a kilt. (Honestly I would have done it anyway).

Thanks guys. Have that "Keep Calm and Carry On" sign at work. This chemo doesn't seem to cause nausea or hair loss. They did give me a new anti-nausea drug just in case.
They also have a new drug to rebuild the white blood cells after the chemo is done Friday.
And thanks Andy, that's pretty much what the doc said...this round of chemo should zap the hairy buggers.
Another kilted round tomorrow.
