    Ron,
I am going out to send up smoke right now. It has been said that you can't stop a man that will keep on comin'. You my friend fit that description. Keep us posted on your progress.
    All my best to you,

Ron, I will be saying a misheberach for you for the strength for a speedy recovery. I have a little idea of what you are going though. I was diagnosed with chronic lymphatic leukemia last year, which is similar to hairy cell. Currently in the watch and wait phase until my white count gets high enough to have chemo.

    Best wishes.

    Brian

Best wishes for a speedy recovery Ron. Does this mean you'll be planning for a new "that's over with" kilt, to reward yourself with?

Seems like the best folk always face some of the biggest challanges in life.
Faced some pretty big life changes of my own, and still with no idea of what might be the outcome. Though not with the possible ramifications as you deal with, I have learned to be grateful for what I have and have experienced on a day to day basis, as well as for the support of my friends and family.

I wish you all the strength you need to get through this, and have ya in my thoughts.

    Good friend Ron,

A kindly fellow X Marker 'phoned to lead me to this thread as I am able to visit somewhat infrequently now and would most likely have missed it. I am so very sorry to learn of your recent diagnosis but sense that you have the right very positive attitude to dealing with the problem. Stick with it kid, and you'll be fine. My treatment last summer was different (chemo and radio-therapy for five weeks), but it was the subsequent operations that have left me making such a slow recovery. Hopefully you will be spared the surgeon's 'tool kit'!

    I'm rootin' for ya Ron.

    Take care,
    Ham.

[PS: Can that be the Dutch Friendship tartan I see there? WOW! I'm insanely jealous!]

That’s a wonderful grin you have on your face in that chemo picture, Ron.
And a smiling attitude is what is going to get you through this.
I am glad the cancer you have is so easily treatable, and that the treatment will be brief.
I pray that you will have no long-term hassles with that hairy blighter!
    And keep on kilting!
    Best regards,
    Mike

Hey Ham....glad you're there. Yup, that's the new Dutch Friendship.....its sooo much more beautiful than the digital camera captures....very beautiful in the sun.

Finished day three of chemo today. Went smooth. Gottal love the anti-nausea drugs.

Just found this thread and I'm sending my best wishes your way. Nice kilt! I have to say that I've never seen a more good looking gentleman undergoing chemo. I'm sure you have all the female nurses and doctors charmed.
