As far as I can tell from that article I linked to, McIntosh lived in Edinburgh for two years after the age of twelve, and that might be all.
San Carlos, as well as the people or characters of the Sierra Madre mountains were more or less what I was looking into, though.
Have seen some discussions on the forum lately that have led me to reconsider my prospective on that article.
